Hey all, just trying to show my work to the world in as many places as possible.
This Goldwing I bought as a basket case for 500 bucks, I was forced to build it on an extremely cheap budget so I made do with what I could. I tore it down, mocked up all the bodywork, fabricated a custom subframe that goes behind the Viper fairing to move it out and forwards, I built the tail section and strengthened weak areas of the frame.
While building this bike, I did not have the word "cafe" anywhere in my mind. I built it as an homage to american muscle cars of the 1960s, to that end, I painted it like a Shelby Cobra and gave it a red engine block. I used a goldwing as a base becuase the Goldwing was hondas attempt at American muscle, huge ridiculous displacement, everything done over the top, it was their biggest baddest bike, and only fitting to make an homage to muscle cars out of such a beast.
it has a nissin 5/8ths master cylinder, a low-effort clutch lever, Clubman bars, emgo VIPER fairing, stock carbs rejetted, K&N filter. stock forks rebuilt with higher spring preload and heavier oil. custom seat, all gauges re-faced white with my own design. Custom wired from scratch with a custom race-inspired dashboard inside the fairing, with a bunch of fancy toggle switches for things like the headlights, fuel pump, manual over-ride for the radiator fan, push button engine start. rear shocks are some redwing shocks I had, painted yellow and extended an inch to lift the rear of the bike, I would have gladly put nicer shocks, but... budget build. The front wheel is a 18 inch rim off a 1100cc later model Goldwing. the tires are a 140 17 in the rear and a 120 18 in the front. it looks a lot more balanced than the original 19 rim did.
