1979CB400T steering question

Been Around the Block
I am working on a 1979 Honda CB400T. The stamped steel upper fork bridge on this thing is a total POS. Even with the fender snugly in place, there is a lot of play in the forks. DCC has a selection of these for other Honda models. Does anyone know if there are other model fitments possible for this. Any help is appreciated!

Re: 1979CB400T sterring question

I am pretty sure the 79-86 CM400/CM450T top cast part is a direct swap in replacement.

Thanks. I have access to a cm400 parts bike and will be picking up the yoke this weekend.

Have you adjusted steering bearings?
After that's done, tighten top nuts, raise front end so wheel is free to turn then undo the lower yoke pinch bolts to allow fork legs to 'drop' into position
Fitting cast or billet top yoke will require the fork top nuts to be changed, the flange on 'tin' type won't fit properly
