Trying to keep out of trouble
Well here we go again, this time I was able to score a Custom. Watch out Wrenchmonkees, just kidding. I like the two up seat whenever possible. Tag along if you wish. As loaded onto the trailer.

Once we got home and did a quick garbage run.

save me the side covers

Wow good thing you requested them, they are usually in the first dump run...
PM me your address and I will let you know shipping.

We have a runner. The PO mentioned a weak spark and a bad cylinder but here is what I found. No spark on cranking so I turned the kill switch to run and we have spark. Moving on to the weak cylinder I ran compression check and the left side was down to 90psi. I filled the carbs with gas and nothing. I squirted fuel into them and it fired up, nice. Well the carbs were nasty so I did a rough cleanup, reinstalled them and got it to run, it even idled, good deal.

reset the valves and adjust the timing chain run it for a while

when you check that motor the carbs have to be popped off or the slides lifted or you wont get a good comp reading

The first reading was with carbs installed the second without carbs, good to know, thanks.

i dont see a second reading but at this point if you want a quick answer just do a leakdown test

This is where this one will stop until the seat arrives. Put superbike bars on, the seat will determine the direction from here.

The seat arrived today but I am not sure what their intention was with how it follows the frame. I fit it with the bracket on and it was too hi. So I cut it off and I think it looks worse. Emailed the company for their thoughts, time will tell.

I personally think it looked good when sitting on the stock bracket. I would have left it like that and fiberglassed up a neat looking tail for it to cover the bracket.

It is a nice seat, good construction. The one thing the guy is lacking is pictures of the seat on a bike to get the idea of finished product.

I could install a new bracket on the inside of the frame rails and mount the fender to it. The question is do I go big to hide the dead space or small to disappear?
