1980 Honda CB 750C Seaweed and Gravel CB 550 imitation

I am doing my first major bike project and I would like some help. I have a 1980 CB750C and I wanted to make it look like a motorcycle that Seaweed and Gravel did (550). Image attached from http://www.blessthisstuff.com/stuff/vehicles/motorcycles/1975-honda-cb-550-by-seaweed-gravel/
I'm not completely sure on how to do this one. At first I was looking at some CRD bikes but then I saw this one and I liked it a lot better. So, I don't really know if I could do this with a 750 but I think the frame is mostly the same but the engine is the main difference. One of my main concerns was the tank and if a 550 tank (I'm assuming that's what's on the bike) will fit on a 750. I was also wondering about the shocks and the forks. I don't know what they used. Everything else doesn't seem to be too much of a problem.

You can get something similar, but of course you're right -- the DOHC will never look like the SOHC. But you may want to rethink the Firestones -- search and you'll find plenty of shit talking about how they are all show and no go, and potentially dangerous. Dunno about the tank, but you could likely do some finangling to make it fit. The CB750 tanks (in the 70s) sometimes don't fit different years, so the chance of a direct swap with no modificaiton is pretty slim.
