1981 CB650 vs 1980 CB750 F Supersport

I am currently in a yamaha XS400 build and have had a relatively painless job in finding parts for this bike thanks to MikesXS.com.

However there are a couple of bikes for sale in my area that would make another good project, one is a 1981 CB650 and the other a 1980 CB750 F Supersport. They are around the same price however the 750 is a bit cheaper, but was looking for some comments from some of the Honda folk on this site.

Here are a couple of questions I have:
Is one of these two Honda easier to get parts for?
Is one bike more reliable?
Any significant changes from the 1980 to 1981 models? i.e. CDI vs. points

Still not sure if I am going to cafe or bobber one of these bikes, or even tell the wife...

Thanks,
Paul

No replacement for displacement.

I can't imagine having trouble getting parts for the 750 - pretty popular ride.

650's are harder to get parts for, from what i understand. although, i have heard the are pretty good motors. you may also want to consider your height/weight and also any differences in the frames. 750's are a pretty substantial bike and not the most nimble. that being said, parts for the 750's and aftermarket mods are nearly endless. you can also check out sohc4.net to get the low down from really knowledgeable folks.

I have a cb650. It has been good to me, however if I were you I would choose the 750 for the reasons already mentioned. There is no arguing over which bike is more popular among enthusiasts. The frame on my cb has a cruiser style dip in it which makes the proper cafe look a little harder to achieve than the supersport.
