Awesome! How does one go about changing the color of the fork tubes? Looks great.

It needs a straight-sided flat-backed K&N to stop the tire force-feeding the motor dust and crap through the carby.SR's can be oil burners,so keeping the rings, guides and piston happy is vital.

There is a filter on the carb. Had a old k&n filter that i cut up and placed over the carb hole then fastened with a big worm clamp. That why its flat and appears like nothing is on it since the frame upright hides it. Nice, simple, clean :)

Im aware of them being oil burners, it gets Motul full syn and get check once a week and topped off when needed. She is well loved :)

Do you have one?

Its Titanium Nitride coating. The forks were redone, and the coating put on. Its the same coating as sport bike, reduces friction and it bomb proof.

Sorry i forgot the mod list:

-Shortened rear frame, added loop.
-De-tabbed frame, and ditched the side covers.
-Battery less
-Firestone deluxe champion tires
-Painted tank heavy flake burnt orange with candy
-Front forks redone and coated with Titanium-Nitride
-Aftermarket rear shocks (slight drop)
-Bates style 4 inch head light
-Drag bars
-2010 Ninja 600 front brake master cyl with hose mod
-Murdered out 33 tail light/plate combo
-Custom seat pan with custom leather upholstery
-Cross drilled front rotor with stainless brake line
-Super trap Ti exhaust
-Mikuni 38 Carb, dyno tuned
--Deleted signals, horn, all switchs, and cleaned up the wiring and hide everything.

haha very true I ride mine like a jackass I don't think I'll ever sell it

I was just drooling over this on chop cult.

Well done.
The wheelies I would do with that. Would be gross.

The handlebars don't seem to mesh with the suspension. Bike seems very "motard" but the bars say "drag racer". I'd probably lower it, or go with slightly more offroad bars.

Fox Suspension call it "Kashima Coat", and titanium nitride is used a lot on UJM forks.

From what I understands its not exactly cheap to have done.

Yeah - it's nice to see 'stock' sized Firestones on a bike for once ;)

All of this SR500 love is making me want to finish mine up.

tire sizes are 400-18 rear and 325-19 front.

And i was worried about how it would handle at first since i heard so many horror stories from "performance" guys saying how much they sucked. But i wanted them for the look. The bike wouldent look nearly as cool with out them, they complete it for sure.

But then after i got them on and went for a ride after the chop i was very impressed how they handled. I honestly felt ZERO difference from what i had on before. And i bomb around town.
