Been Around the Block
Hey guys. So I recently found out first hand the real, tangible safety benefit of lane splitting out here in San Francisco traffic. At least, now I'm a believer. Without getting into debates, discussion or whatever regarding riding...

I'm here to hand off a donor bike. The short version of the story is that I got caught in a mess of traffic in San Francisco right after the Golden Gate bridge. A big ass work van slammed it's breaks and my bike simply couldn't stop as fast as it could. I hit the bumper with my front tire at about 15/20 mph, bent the forks back at about 20 degrees, went over the top and bounced off the back door. The bike fell to it's right and broke a bunch of shit. I spent the last couple weeks looking into and debating my options.

Way I see it is I (or someone else) could do the repairs and make a new project out of my old project but there is some serious work and inspection needed for anyone to safely ride this little fucker again. I don't have the time, funds or space to do this right now. That and I've had a good run with this bike. Time to cut my losses and move on to the next thing. Already looking into what I'd like to pick up next winter.

What I do know about the state of it is that there are a handful of replacement parts required (clipons/handlebars, headlight, rear shocks, front forks, 1 blinker) and there's frame damage. Don't know if it's just the bent section in the rear where the upper shock mounts on the right or if there could be stress fractures iun the neck as well.

Before transplanting myself and the bike out here I had a local bike mechanic in MA dial everything in. The engine, transmission, exhaust system (airbox all the way to the mufflers) were all still working perfectly. Could take it all and toss it in another frame or just part it out but I just don't have anywhere to store things and no time in the foreseeable future to do anything with it.

If anyone here is interested, please just call me on my cell 707.304.1493 or email me at rattpunk at gmail dot com

If you guys don't have a use for it, I'll take the first $500 from ebay or criagslist, or just take what my insurance will give. I'm giving DoTheTon first dibs at $400. This offer is only good for as long as it takes Progressive to cut a check.

I'll update this when I know if it will have a Clean Title or Salvage Tittle. Or when sold.

Buyer responsible for any transport costs.
Will trade for a sweet old school Schwin bicycle, or tattoos (professional only - send samples of your work please).
Registered, tittle in hand.

Thanks for stopping by,
Tyler

Nah, thanks for the offer though. Moving on to the next bike.

Had my times with that one but I've gotten through most of the grieving process already.
