Re: 1983 Suzuki GS850 Shaft Drive Bobber!
so i have been trucking on with this project, step by step
if you can tell by my last post, i am considering swapping from cv carbs to vm due to the fact that i will be running velocity stacks.
I have calculated my intake length and it states that I need to hit 9 inches to catch the fourth wavelength for acoustic tunning. the measurement on a 850's intake port to the back of a cv carb is 9 inches...... maybe ill shoot for the third wavelength. or i might target a lower rpm range to get a decent velocity stack length.
as for the exhaust design, i am in the process.
I ran into a few articles on torque reversion cones.... look like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/161145001320?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
basically they help increase your torque on the low range of your powerband by blocking reversion soundwaves..... the info on them is found in sonrier's post about doing it right in the engines section.
they make them for the header and even one for the end of your pipe. i doubt i would go with the one that goes in the end but from everything i have read the ones up front actually work.
and if all else fails, they could be used for my xs65o project down the line.
what do you guys think about em? opinions good and bad are welcome
