Is it me, or is it typical of this forum to not comment, good or bad, or make suggestions? Ive belong to many forums over the years for cars and bikes and this is the "quietest" forum by far, Ive ever belonged to.

Be careful what you wish for . This bunch has a voice , there is no question about that . You just caught the bulk of the forum during the northern hemisphere riding season . You see along with our regular jobs and our second jobs to afford our toys as well as school , family , gf/bf/dog/cat/other we are finding time to ride .
Now if you had brought this up during the silly season when a plethora of keyboard commandos infest these pages you can be assured that "several" opinions would have surfaced .
One , I can name no greater single performance modification to these than a set of real carburettors
Two , exhaust of course
Three , several cam profiles are still available but virtually useless with out carbs and pipe .

The 16 inch front has to go . The marginal front suspension is only made somewhat more exciting with the addition of a 16 inch front .
Consider looking into the stickies at the top of the 1-800-cafe-help section for easy front end swaps.
Depending on who you talk to the cam chain tensioner is a non issue or a pos . Make up your own mind .
Under all but the most demanding use the rear shock and swinger are serviceable .
See if you can find a water pump kit before the supply drys up completely .

That should be enough for now ;-)

I dust primed the frame:

OH snap! That's some serious color there for a frame! (I like it, it's a little different) What color were you thinking for the bodywork again?

The color is actually dark blue. The camera flash made it change color. This is my idea for a color scheme - dark blue metallic frame and silver carbon fiber vinyl covering the tank and seat with blue ultrasuade seat cover.

Got a bit more work done. Painted the center of the wheels the same blue as the frame. I plan to put another coat of paint on. There wont be any overspray as seen here:

I also bought some silver carbon fiber vinyl in which to wrap the tank. Here is a pic showing the color combo:

I also bought a tail light that matches the shape of the rear of the seat. Its LED and very bright. Also the lense is clear so it will blend in with the silver carbon fiber. Here is a pic showing it taped in place to give you an idea of what it will look like:

Update: I repainted the rims using Appliance paint in gloss black but kept the center blue. Appliance paint is very tough stuff and looks great. I had to do some touch ups and I also painted the radiator screen the same blue. Everything has been clear coated and now its time to reassemble. I hope i remember where everything goes...LOL. As I reassemble, I will clean, paint or polish all the bits like center stand, shock, bolts, motor mounts, radiator, water pipe pipe and headers.
