1991 Nighthawk 750 cafe/brat build

whoa whoa whoa guys. I appreciate the criticism, but in the end it is my choice. It might not go how you want, but this is my project (sorry to those that want me to keep it original).

I bought the nighthawk to build it up during the winter, when I cant ride my FZ-09. I hope this will be fun for me. I also dont plan on keeping it. I wanted to do the build and then sell it, and work my way up to building something else that is fuel injected (much easier :D )

Original might be good, but then it will be the same as every other nighthawk. What about making it yours? anyways, I dont want to spark any fights, or get kicked off of here for not using the stock airbox. I will not poke fun at anyone that thinks otherwise. We can just let my age speak for me :p (Im 28..) not that its bad.

Nobody wants you to keep your nighthawk original

Its not a dirt bike

So, the backbone of the later CB's like yours are nice, just a big single tube. That opens up alot of tank options.
 
Hi ff2, I'm in process of building my own WD clone. I live about five miles from where they film mk ost of the show and thought it'd be a cool winter project for me and my 11 yo son. Love the look of the bike as well. I'm starting with a 92 hawk I purchased for $300 non running. Tank and petcock were shot. Runs great off of temp tank. Speaking of that, what are you doing for a tank? The original wd bike uses a xs650 tank. Not sure how much fab work I wanna do on the tank, but if it's easy enough I'll do it. Trying to stay on as strict budget as it's a toy. Any input is appreciated.
 
I also have a full yoshimura 4 into 1 system that came on my bike that I'm not using if you need... Let me know and I'll make you a good deal on it.
 
Rollindead, i am interested in that exhaust. I wanted to do a 4-1 with a supertrapp muffler. In my thoughts, im there, but with the build, not yet.

For the tank, im thinking of an xs650 or a cb650 tank. Not sure which yet, but it's getting closer on my list of things to look for.

Canyoncarver, yes, planning on it.
