2014 Spring Thaw - PRE GAME THREAD

I'm in. I'll try to bring many Cincinnati folk too.
I wish this was a couple of weeks sooner... mid may is nearly summer. :)

My family is originally from a place south of there near Beattyville. A place near the cross roads of "Ida May". Some seriously great roads down there. About 15 minutes south of the camping area. I may do some pre-scouting of routes in the spring (early spring when things are truly thawing out... ha!)

Thanks for helping put this all together Logan!

I know it's "late" but you can just never tell about the weather in KY at that time. I've seen lots of cold weather and snow going up into April. The weather was perfect last time and Amanda and I are hoping for a repeat!

Wtf. How can you be out this early?? Are you still in for the mad ride of southern degenerates or whatever its called?

I will come this year for sure....... I know that area well since some of my misspent youth was spent there. Looking forward to seeing all of you.......

I'm stoked for this GTG. Hopefully we can get a good group from up this way. I know Mike said he was working on it. How much riding is planned weather permitting?

I think last year we drained the tanks at the closest gas station.

There's a 37 mile loop that got run about five times a day; I'm up for a bit more sightseeing this time, miles and miles of loose gravel roads.

Ya weather permitting I'd like to do as much riding as possible. I have only two real goals for this GTG. Drink during evening hours and ride the rest. Of course if the weather doesn't cooperate then I'm down to one goal...

I think the loop is all freshly paved this year. Which is good, as it's a miracle nobody ate it last year.

There are lots of rock formations that are down gravel roads.

Yep all new pavement down the tunnel road ! There are a few more roads we checked out south of the cabins that are also very nice rides. Found any road that is grey on the map are nice and curvie !

I vote for less "Massive downpour for foolish fenderless riders" weather.
