I spent the weekend getting the bike together. First the ballistic battery took a crap. I don't have 160 bucks for a new one so I mounted the lead acid battery behind the seat. This worked out much better. With the nitrous system all the fuel lines are 6 an. If a wrench hits the battery with gas everywhere it would be bad. With the battery behind the seat I don't have to worry. All I had to do was make a bracket and new cables.
Then I did my fuel flow test. The is done by removing the fuel jet from the pulsoid and running the system. I am using a gravity feed fuel system. I was able to flow 2 ml a second so I could probubly get 40 hp from that. But I am going to jet it for 15 hp per piston and then use twenty to eighty present of that. If the clutch holds then I can go more. I don't have the bottles yet. I can't afford to get all the parts at once. But Friday I will order them and they will arrive in a week.
Next step is called a static test. But I need nitrous for that.
I have the body off the drain the coolant. I have to use only distilled water. I cant leave it there . So I change it before and after the race. Just some shots of the bike without the fairing.
I took a couple shots of the naked Ninja. This is how the bike looks when I run it in the Modified class. I really like the look without the fairing. but then again I LOVE the front fairing.
I got the system mocked up tonight. I now have to finish the hoses and fit the jets and fill the bottles.
First I freeze the bottles . then I will fill them.1.5 lb each.
Then I will do a thing called a static test . I warm up the engine and while at about 2500rpm I push the button. If the engine hits the redline . I need more fuel IF the engine sputters and puffs smoke I need less fuel. It should rev smoothly to about 10,000 rpm like I opened the throttle quickly. I will video that because I need to see the exhaust color.
Should be through that by the weekend. Still a lot to do.
I am ready to go racing. Working round the clock to get this right, I did the static test.

I should have held the button longer to let the engine rev higher. But I was afraid of floating a valve with only three days left to go. I am ready to test the Wizards of Nos system at speed. Everything is good. even the camera is working OK. Now I just have to pack clean out the truck and take a shower,
I haven't got a clew. The motor makes 34 hp + and I have nitrous jetting for 10 20 or 30 hp. So I could have as much as 60 hp . But that is on paper. Let's see what it does on concrete.

I think I found a problem. I made a couple baffles for my dual exhaust. Back pressure is good got the 250 ninja engine. It helps with the torque. when I made the baffles I made them with 17mm outlets. I knew that was small and intended to open them up on the dyno.
Never went to the dyno. I went to the 1/4 mile track. I had a couple problems. And went 15 seconds. At the time I was hoping to go faster than my 14 second fastest speed. I sorta chalked it up to the problems.
I did drill out the openning to 25mm each. Then in Ohio I went 109 and the engine went past 12000 rpm. BUT it went 109 when I changed the rear gearing . I THOUGHT it should have gone a little faster. But was happy it went over 108.
after looking at the video of the Ohio run I am hitting the 1/4 mile cone at 89mph .That is 15 seconds..
Now I know how much the bike weighs with me on it and running 15seconds indicated 28 hp.
I had over 30 hp on the stock engine. This enigne has everything 265cc ported head. timing advanced big carbs . AND funny exhaust, I pulled the baffles. I was told that putting a cap at the end is the worse thing I could do.
SO if I ran 109 with ONLY 28 hp and now have more plus nitrous. Wooo Hooo am I excited to run this thing now,
Today was messed up. 112 deg at the start line. 4500 feet relitive altitude and a 10 mph head wind.
Removing the baffle from the exhaust was a huge mistake. The engine would not run. I made five aborted passes . Rejjeting the carb changing plugs checking things . Nothing worked. I put in the baffles and set a slow gas record at 101.9 mph.
I put cooler plugs in a installed the nitrous bottles . Changed class and went back to the line. After standing in line working on the bike and running for 11 hours in the blazing sun. The sky opened up and soaked down me and the bike and my gear. Enging a miserable day with more misery.
Tomorrow I will be on the line at 8 am ready to do it all over again. I need potassium and salt and a shower now. I am cramping up and have a headake.
Asside from that it is always a great time talking to friends and meeting the new people that. Ome out to race. Really had a great day.
Made a nitrous pass this morning. Was at 101 at the 1/2 mile mark and waited to the 3/4 marked. The nitrous has a 4 second ramp up and the bike pulled smooth to 111 mph.
