3003 Ally Tank T500 (Complete!)

Re: 3003 Ally Tank T500 (progress)

Here is the tunnel welded in, I just have the mounting brackets and petcock bung to do. One piece of advice for anyone else doing this for the first time when you do the tunnel make sure you have plenty of clearance on the width of it. I allowed 6mm over size and after welding the tunnel is now just barely wider than the rubber mounting buttons!

nice work mate, you've inspired me to tackle making a tank for my CB100 racer :)

Re: 3003 Ally Tank T500 (progress)

Thanks. This is my first tank, it's a great to be able to make a tank that is unique. Good luck with your tank and put up a build thread on here so we can see your progress.

Holy shit!

I wasn't sure on the polishing, but the end result has completely changed my mind. Nice.

Me either, I don't typically like polished alloy.

Damn... that's shiny. Excellent work. I can't even remember how my torch set works, haven't used one in almost 20 years. If I can't use a 110 buzz box or the coal forge, I don't make it. I can forge weld, but you hand me a torch or a tig and I'm lost.
