I win.

Does anyone know the torque spec's for the 4 bolts that go in the clutch. I was looking around and cant seem to find any in the shop manual, the threads only say tighten in X pattern.

Also is this the correct order for the clutch plates?

Okay so.... Back from vacation.

Getting everything back together and to spec. Still have a clutch issue with it not engaging / disengaging making it really hard to shift gears. I have everything set to spec and there is still the missing - not being able to click into gear easy.

The motor runs great though, sounds way better and a bit smoother at lower idle once the motor has got some heat to it. I ran it for a bit then re-torqued the head bolts after noticing a small leak and that seemed to fix it.

Any guesses about the clutch? Im about to quit fiddling with it, seems 1 step forward and two back with it.

Wanted to update this thread

Seems there is a gremlin somewhere on the bike as it wont start anymore.

Symptoms:

Has Spark
Coils are good - verified
Battery is fully charged
Plugs are wet - so i'm assuming its getting fuel and the line is full.
Has compression

It ran for about 2 minutes yesterday, then I knocked the external battery I use for shop work and the connection got severed thus the bike quit.
