Re: 360 bob with no name

Congrats Troy! You know how I feel about this bike.

Can't wait to see it!

Re: 360 bob with no name

Hey Troy:

This really is a great build...again. There are a couple things to note:

1.) Well done on the handlebar selection.
2.) The headlight looks great
3.) You did a great job blending in the bottom tube of the hard tail with the stock frame. I wondered how you were going to pull that off
4.) The welds look fantastic. I think on this build, perfect mig welds are just the thing
5.) the exhaust and its details are really insane
and
6.) I have to agree with Joe on this one. A fender really is a good idea. You could hit a bump when hand signaling and literally be torn a new asshole. Prudence my friend.

I can't believe you did all this and still ran the farm and the family. I don't contribute much anymore, but I do follow along my friends' builds. Thanks for the read.

Re: 360 bob with no name

Hell yes Troy. awesome attention to detail, very well though out. Screw the fender just wear a cup....

Really I have to agree with Joe and others on this one. All it takes is one bump when you are not anticipating it and you could lose your manhood...

Re: 360 bob with no name

Wow....amazing! So much customization in this bike and the result speaks for itself. Great job!

Still have a couple of small things to do but she is mostly finished. I stole some plug wires from my sons truck that has been sitting in the weeds for the past year and half. New vintage ones should arrive any day. Also need to paint the kick stand. I plan to get it powdered over the winter. Has a miss in one of the cylinders. Think it might be an electrical issue. anyhow hope you all like

Re: 360 bob with no name

the subtle touches like the brass nuts, petcock, headlight mount spacer really make this bike my fav bobber!!! simply awesome man!!!

Re: 360 bob with no name

Troy,
This bike looks great. i like everything BUT the handlebars. I know everyone else does like them, but hey....
I do however like the choice of handle grips. That is a nice touch. Although i agree with most evryone's opinion on your new "no name" bike, I think it is a crying shape that you had to kill BTC to make this bike. Now to think of it. I think you should have kept each version of the bike and built each approach independently.

I'm sure going to miss the BTC. Knowing she won't be around is sad, but it does add to the nostalgia of times gone by.

You know this bike is going to carry it's predcesor's ghosts wherever it goes, right?

Well at leat I'm not calling you a murderer. But if I could press charges, I would at least press "assault" charges on you. ;)

Keep on building brother, but please don't kill this one too. :p

Re: 360 bob with no name

Troy! you got the chop now... build a pro street style cafe out of that 750, stretched, slammed, and maybe a bit of a rake
this has always been a motivator for me for the CB 750

Re: 360 bob with no name

Hey fellas I really appreciate all the kind words. I only hope she met your expectations once some of you saw her in person. I only wish I had her running a little better but I guess I needed another day or two. After we worked out the carb issues and the timing issues (180 out at one point) she still wasn't quite right. Turned out one of the coils was going bad. $12.95 later and she rips. I still need to sinc the carbs but other than that she is ready for the dance. I put about 90 miles on her today and I love riding this thing! I'm so super stoked about this bike. Everywhere I went a crowd gathered.
Super huge thank you to everyone for their help on this thing over the weekend. You don't know how much I appreciate it! The new plug wires Kiley brought are super sexy with an attitude. I can't wait till you guys see em. Thank you to the Pa crew for the points plate. And again thank you to Kiley, go!, Beatnic and everyone one else for turning wrenchs. You are my kind of folk and my bike thanks you! ;D

Thanks man. Going to be awhile though. bobdot has some stuff so I need to wait and see what he brings to the table. I need a good bit of stuff so I figure I might be in need of your services.
