400F carb setup with pods filters?

What jets are you running? Needle jet height? I actually have a 350F, but am running pods and a 4-into-1.

There are a million variables that go into the right jets
Really at the end of the day the internet can only give you a wide ball park, and even at that its basic help at best.
You really just need to spend the money on a few sets of jets and then spend the hours tuning it.

If you are uncomfortable tuning carbs you might want to think about either paying someone to do it for you, or just not modifying the bike in that way

on a side note, SOHC4s hate pods
are you a member of the sohc4 board?

Also if you are using emgo, or k&n "style" pods that are sold buy all the "experts" just stop and through them out. They are worse then junk.

Point taken.

I'm at 6000ft so stock jetting usually works for me but my 400F is a little rich with 85s, but anything smaller and it didn't have any pick up. :-\

It also has an MC-One pipe so it really likes full throttle only.

i put on emgo filters and used a 2010 Honda crf250 exhaust for my 400f and i battled the jetting, all i did was lower the needles to spots from the top and took a jet file and went up 2 sizes on both the main, and the pilot. i think there at 85's. i adjusted the air fuel skrew back to the stock position ( 2 3/4) out and mine runs perfect. no pop, no lag. im at 1000ft above sea level. what are you running for an exhaust?

I'm running a MAC 4-1. It used to have a DCC shorty reverse cone on it, but recently switched back to the stock MAC muffler. The added back pressure has made a huge difference.

I'm one size up on my pilot jets and went from 75 to 98 main jets. Haven't moved the needle yet. I have some K&N filters on the way ($$$$$$$). Going to see how that goes, then move the needle if I need to.

It's damn close right now.

I run cheap pods on bored carbs with a mostly stock exhaust (marving silencer, stock headers). #95 Mains, #38 pilots, middle needle clip position, and floats at 21mm.

Frankly I don't know what "normal" is for the baby fours. I've run the stock set up with the airbox, and I find pods give the bike way more rideability. I'll take that over a bike I don't need to tinker with, but thats just me.

But believe that a world of tinkering is in your future. There are a hundred possibilities out there for a carb setting, and no two scenarios ever alike. Advice from someone who smells like gas more often than not: buy an assortment of jets and experiment. Your bike will tell you what it likes best.

Do you still have the rev cone around? I have stock exhaust on my 350F, but looking to cheaply upgrade

Funny I just looked at my first post on this thred and my bike was running great. Now after the rebuild and the 466 kit I have had no luck with getting her running good. I have the stock jets back in the bike and its running fat as hell. If I ride thru the city for to long it loads up and I know that's not right... any suggestions on were to look for a problem? I can't seem to figure this one out

Start with timing. Sounds like you're way retarded.

Haha thanks for the help. I'm not to savvy at dialing in the timing. But I do have the electronic ignition rolled counter clockwise to the end of the adjustment?

If something is at the very end of its adjustment, something is usually off ;)

Yep, shouldn't be that far off, if it is, chances are you've got the cam timing wrong when you put the to end back together. You need a timing light.

timing first....then jet. I f you have an aftermarket cam (and you should with a 466), degree wheel etc....
