466f carb question

So I've got the stock 400f jets in my carbs as of yesterday and my bike still runs fat. But I have found something that might be making it run shitty. The o-rings on my main jets are hammered. And when I take the jets out the long brass piece that the needle slides into falls out freely. Could I be sucking gas thru the sides of the main and up past the brass tube? ( sorry don't know the term for the "brass tube")

Or is it called the needle jet?

Yes. and Yes. Replacing o-rings would be cheapest and easiest place to start. Carbs do get knackered over time -- how many miles on the carbs?

Brass tube with cross drillings is emulsion tube.
You should have around 100~105 main jet, stock pilot, raise float level 1mm higher than stock and drop needle one clip(probably 2nd groove from top)

You need bigger mains for sure . How big will depend on what else if anything you've done. ie cam, porting ,pods, etc. My 466 is using the stock
airbox with open headers , no other mods and it runs great on 90's. Everything else in carb is stock.

I been rucking with this bike for a week now and I am baffled. I've checked timing, carbs, compression, spark, all that stuff and I am still getting unburnt fuel. I can collect soot on my hand when I rev it up. It never ran like this before the rebuild. I'm baffled. No idea what I'm missing. I am a rookie but this bike is just
..wow I have no idea what to do next.

Cam timing out a tooth?
You did have the front run of chain tight when you checked it?

I have the marks lined up flat with the head. But the marks could be wrong. What direction would I adjust it towards or backwords to test it. And how many teeth before I run into hanging valves?
