Technically I don't think you're supposed to mix and match cases as they are lined bored as a set. That being said it maybe possible - as long as everything spins freely and you have the correct oil clearances. You will need to plastiguage the trans shafts and crank to verify.

Reasonable. The lower mounting tab was broken off and I don't know how to tig weld yet. New lower case was suggested, but plastigauge is cheap insurance.

Having used a lot of POR-15 on the Bus, I no longer use it and I have had very mixed results with it from bonding great to flaking right off properly prepared metal (to their standards).

I prefer media blasting (I have my frames powder coated these days), but have done many in Ruseoleum Appliance Epoxy which is available in a rattle can and is quite durable for frame parts and is gasoline resistant when applied properly. I used it on the RV125 resto-mod in my signature.

Thank you. I've generally had great results with POR-15. Budgets on these kind of projects escalate very fast and trying to keep it more DIY, I do love powdercoat. I will check out the Appliance Epoxy. Trying to decide how I will treat the current rust. I love evaporate, that will treat all of the bits and pieces, as for the frame I need to look at it and see if it just needs some touchup. I have a CL100 that I will take a wire wheel to, it was $350 and is a ratty little tike.

It doesn't matter as much on CB350 as the main bearing 'base' is separate from the lower case.
