I have a US sprocket manufacturer who is able to make basically any sprocket we need for just about any bike and will even do one off custom sprockets.
I'm gauging interest for 520 Conversion kits on the small cc bikes like 500 cc and under. Really no reason to run a heavy 530 chain on a CB350 etc... They are able to make us 520 Conversion kits for all most all vintage bikes. The kits would include a 520 Front & Rear sprocket and your choice of chain depending on your budget.
Price would be in the $130 range for a full kit including chain & master link.
All front sprockets are case hardened steel and rear sprockets are made from Aluminum and CNC machined. They have been making sprockets in the US for over 20 yrs and actually produce alot of the sprockets for other manufacturers on the market today
YES! I was researching this a while back, and...well...i forgot since the bike needed other stuff. I would def buy a kit if you offered one for a CB450.
what savings are we talking here (weight) and also what about replaceability? Would this basically be sprockets and a chain, and so any problems (broken tooth etc) down the line be addressed by going back to the same manufacturer only?

The owner of this company used to run sprocketspecialist and has been making sprockets for over 30 yrs. We have been using there sprockets for ov error 7 years on our streetfighters and stunt bikes with never one issue. They stand behind all their products too. The brunt guys beat the he'll out of their sprockets and we have never seen any issues except for normal wear ans tear.
Kits come with front and rear sprockets and chain.
We have a bunch of kits coming in next week and should have them up on the website this weekend.
Sounds like a great deal - I've been running 520 sprockets/chain on my XS650 since I put it on the road, and have had no problems even having blown the engine out to 750 with a ported head etc.
We run 520 conversion kits on the Liter bikes all the time with no issue. Its all about the chain. Anything higher than 750cc needs to have the EK MVXZ 520 chains which is on of the strongest 520 chains on the market. Proper maintenance is also key.
The link above didnt have any products when I clicked on it. I would definately be interested in a 520 kit for my cb450. I would be fine with stock teeth count.
I have a few questions though.
Would the sprockets have the proper shoulder width or would I need to add spacers?
Can we get chains in gold?
