The stock exhaust is another problem point for me visually. Again just an opinion not an expert or even a skilled notice just a dude with a hobby and a welder.
So I made an exhaust out of the stock exhaust and a couple of pieces of other old Honda exhausts I've pulled off.
I was proud of my little exhaust hanger though
Only new part for the exhaust were some stainless pieces I jsed for the tips. They were also laying around the garage
I even made baffles for this since it was going to be someone else's bike.
Seems like every build some stranger ends up being my savior and a wealth of knowledge. For this bike its RAY SANS he's an Australian who builds this very trick piece
If you have a very specific electrical issue on your CX then this is truly a magic bullet fix.
If someone is having issues they suspect this will fix hit me up and ill dig out all my testing notes and the specific set of circumstances that this will cure all.
Also I think my wiring came out tidy
I didn't use an m unit I used like a ten dollar amazon fuse box. Not as nice for sure but worked.
And I built a new welding table right at this point I think
AND if youre a cheap ass like I am buying PB in bulk and an oiler has been awesome for me
One last thing very proud of how this taillight turned out.
Recessed it into the ass end and the back of my electronics box. Just one of those cheap led ones you see on Amazon. Put one in the hoop of the cb750 too. Very pleased with how bright they are.
Eventually got around to wet sanding the tank and buttoning up the loose ends for the most part. Then set it free.
Thanks for suffering thru the rapid fire posting. Next time I play hookie I'll do the rigid sporty the same way or maybe the KZ. But for now ive shamed myself into putting on some boots and cleaning the garage before I go any farther on the XL350
How’d it ever go with the Nixie tubes? I wanna say you were developing a speedo with them. Next level stuff. Any chance of a retail version coming out?
I see that a PO of the CX must have been vertically challenged, and had really cutdown the seat. The CB750F that I'm working on now has had the same treatment. I may just leave it that way (a rat bike anyway) and maybe find a short-legged buyer.
Yea man no problem-o. It’s a hella 500 series fog light they make it in black housing and reflective. Blacks cooler in my eyes had it on my cb750 and also put one on my little bobber. Super slim and comes with mounting hardware that’s easily modified. The only catch is that it’s set up for a bulb that’s only available over the counter as a single filament. But there’s a company that makes RV’s and they have hi/lo flood lights on the side and they have these bulbs. I’m out in the garage now but I’ll try to dig up the name of the company. Grab a few of those bulbs wire it up hi/lo and bobs your uncle.
Oh shit almost forgot the best pet they come with a cover. More or less useless on a day to day but cool for a min. I don’t even know where mine are anymore. And they come in pairs also a plus.
Can’t find the box they come in I store them in old pill bottles but this is the guy you’re looking for
