68-69 CL full exhaust

Adamantium

Been Around the Block
Really I am trying to gauge interest and opinion about what to do with my exhaust.
I love this exhaust, however I am going to either a) cut off the mufflers and put something else on there which means I will sell off the mufflers/big heat shield , b) sell the entire system and get something made c) trade to someone who has just the headers with no mufflers so they can have the full system for their restoration and I can be happy with a nice set of CL headers and much louder muffs.
I know this thing is valuable which is why I didn't want to chop it up, however I will only feel guilty for a short period of time if I do. Ive seen them sold for 150-800 bucks. Obviously this is not a 800 dollar exhaust, however I am not just going to give it away.
There is some slight rust under the part of the headers you cant see. The heat shields are beautiful and shine really nice. The majority of the harder rust is behind the mufflers. I was planning on just wire wheeling it down to a smoother surface and letting it be. There are no holes anywhere on this. Some rusted up screws for the shields and a couple screws missing, that's it. Ill shoot a picture of the underbelly of it later this week when I take it off.
Please offer kind opinions on the matter, or shoot me a PM if you have an offer.
Thanks guys.

Forgot to mention that it is on my 72 cb450. It is a 450 exhaust and it is compatible for all years I believe. And I am in southern Ontario and will not ship. It will cost a fortune

I also have CL high pipes. I've considered building something different and black. But will not chop nor paint this pristine set, as I believe that historic preservation is important and someone could put these to great use. If I chopped them they'd be worth zilch
My advice is to keep them for the next owner or sell them and build/bend a new modern set.

I had a set of them shipped to me and it was only $30 USD. I would put them on ebay and have an exhaust made. I would hate to see a nice set cut up.

I figured size and weight would make it cost much more than that. I guess I will reconsider shipping it.
I will make it officially up for sale once I price out and get an idea on a design for a custom pipe job. Stay tuned!

hello....... i just might be interested in your CL pipes there..... doing a resto on a 71 CL450
that someone left bone stock, (except for the pipes....of course)! ....let me know if you come up with a price.... thanks!

BTW......shipping would be to PA

Going to look into custom pipes. Ill let this thread know when they become available. Im hooked on the CL look, if I cant replicate it then Im going to keep the stockers
