I can't honestly say how much as bits and pieces came from far and wide (Ebay, local salvage etc.). I did offset some of the cost by purchasing local parts bikes and Ebaying the parts out.

So true. Not sure about where you are but the parts are always less $ and usually readily available on ebay than anything local.

I did some scavenging around today at a local salvage yard and found these. A decent set of D.I.D aluminum rims from a 76 GL1000. 17" rear and 19" front 40 spokes. I have a set of front spokes but am in need of a decent rear set.

Excellent rims - I'd splurge on stainless spokes for them myself. Buchanans should be able to set you up quick.

so about those idiot lights . . how about making me one and i'll send ya a paypal donation :) I don't even need the wiring labeled, i'll figure it out :)

seriously though . . awesome bike. I thought i spent a lot of time on mine . . I need to get some aluminium and wood working tools!

Well done dude! That is an amazing bike! The rearsets go without say, and color tones all over the bike are absolutely awesome!

wow. nice bike. killer details. the rearsets are such an amazing personal touch. what do you call the color of your spokes?

The spokes were painted metallic copper and thank you all for the compliments.

They're never done, we'll always find something to change on them no matter how perfect they are ;D

Seriously, very nice oldog, beautiful work. Very clean looking bike.

yeah, i think im using that same color on my pedal bike. its going flat black with copper accents. great choice.

That is awesome! You choice of color and graphics is great, and the seat looks killer... too many great details to compliment them on their own... that bike is just plain cool.

Olddog,

What did you use to paint the headers with? I like how they are a bit flat.

Awesome bike.

Thanks for all the great compliments peeps. Johnny5, I painted the headers with good ol flat black high heat BBQ paint. It's been a year now and this paint really holds up to the heat and elements.
