The tank, oil tank and tool box are off now and draining off ready for the painters next week!!!!

Bloody fantastic Jeff, from beginning to end, just a great project. Thanks for sharing. Does Hil's get to drive or is she relegated to just being a passenger?

Mike

Thanks Mike, Hil;s dose ride but only Autos, but would love to see her ride this that would look so cool and she;d love it.
I do want to get some video of her kick starting it though!!!!!

If I was your wife...
and you made me ride that....
While you rode MY Triumph...
I'd super-glue your scrotum to your legs while you slept!

But Hil;s does make it look fun ;)

Jeff - That is a nice mini bike. What's the "L" on the front of it refer to? Is that "L" for "Learner" or beginner? Sort of like having "Student Driver" posted on an auto? Or am I totally off base?

Yes Mike it stands for learner,
HD she,s sold it now so I can sleep soundly, (for now !)

Tank and bits are off to the painters now and wont be back for three weeks so that gives me time to sort out the oil leak.
The leak is coming from the gearbox side main shaft oil seal,Its a bit of a flaff to get to so im glad i have the time to do it

The manuel says next i have to take the gear box cluster out along with the main shaft so that i can push the oil seal out towards the clutch opening !!!
Me being me looked at it and thought "if its coming out this way why can;t i just pull it out and NOT take the gear box out "
so this is what i did!!!!

No, not lazy, just smarter than the average bear! ;D Good job Jeff.

Spot on Jeff! The clutch pushrod seals on the early 450's are the same, they say take the pushrod out which means taking the clutch out... the common trick over on the GSR is what you just did... good stuff ;D

I was hopeing to get out on the caferacer while the tank ect was being painted BUT!!!!
