my bike is a 74 cb450. i have been building it for alittle bit now. everything is powder coated or painted and i went to put the new chain on today and it is hitting the swing arm pivot. i did raise the rear an inch but i have done that on other cb's and no had this problem. anyone run into this? any advice? thanks again.

Is the chain adjusted properly? It should have something like 1" of play. As Honest Don suggested a picture would really help.

Have you got the bike weighted with you sitting on it?

May not be a problem when it's riding.

You can put a cover on it to stop it rubbing - have a look at a dirt bike swingarm.

from the sound of it your chain has stretched a tad bit and that is normal for a new chain. just adjust it by pulling the rear wheel back the proper amount. check it in a week and I I bet it will be time to adjust again if you ride half as much as I do.

Did you change sprocket size either front or rear?
