75 CB500Four Sluggish clutch

Just bought a 1975 CB500Four wich hasn't been used for a couple of years.

When I pull the clutch, the handle stays in and does not spring back.
What could this be, bad clutch cable or something else in the engine?

start with the easy cheap bit, pull the cable off the bike and see if it moves freely or not.

Unlikely anything internal is wrong. My vote is either lube the inside of the cable with a tool like this and the proper lube:

Any good bike dealership will have one of these for sale along with cable lube.

Clutch cables are inexpensive, even from the dealership. New OEM cables make a world of difference.
