Too long for clip ons, at least on a 750 they are! Stock ones create some problems until you shorten them. If you don't change them they will have some hard bends in them that create drag in the throttle and make the clutch really hard! Not to mention that they look like shit all out the front of the forks!
Well, I appreciate the replies....sounds as though everyone has had different experiences.....I will try what I have first, and see if I can make it work. My main bike is a hopped up Harley with a VERY stiff clutch....so I'm used to tolerating an awful lot :-\......what WOULD bother me is a throttle that won't "snap back" when released.
Joes i removed my recoil spring on my cafe... when you are bent over like that it is nice to come off the throttle a bit and stretch out without haven the bike die down on you... If i am not mistaken the recoil on harleys was just started in the 90's i know the 85 sporty we worked on a few weeks ago did not have it... or as my dad calls it (harleys original cruise)
If you zip tie any cables to the frame, try not to pull the zip tie as tight as you can. 99% of the time it wouldnt matter, but every once and awhile it can cause some issues. Just get them tight enough to hold the cable in place without squeezing it...
I got a 3.5" shorter clutch cable for my CB750 from Z1 Enterprises- works great and lets you use standard routing. I have "euro" bars (like stock, but lower rise and narrower) and it's perfect.
