77' Gs 400, a small cafe from Norway

Hi, and welcome to my project

I bought the bike as a project that had fallen asleep.
It was not complete, but all the main components was included in the deal.
At least if you don't count the electrical system in as a main component

Pick up day:

Hello Mr and fellow countryman!
I am also doing a 77 gs 400 from time to time ::).
Looking forward to see how this turns out ;)
Cheers Jorgen

First seat fitting before cutting the seat tubes/frame.
As you can se I had already swapped the stock front at this time.
I wanted to upgrade the stock single disc, and the front mounted came from a 93 Cbr 900RR

Thank you for the warm welcome Jorgen.
I have come a little bit further than this initial pictures

Here is a couple of more of the front end.
The discs is just hanging there at this moment.
I used the original Gs stem with the RR front. That way I could also use original Gs bearings

After test fitting the bike were tore down for powder painting the frame etc.

First colour out on the tank and seat was white, and another colour will be applied when I have decided what to go for....

Spacers for the RR discs on the Gs 400 hub.
There is only one disc originally, but both sides of the hub had threads for a disc.
Now it is bolt on

Thank you Ryan.

If the RR discs and brake caliper does not stop this little thing I am out of ideas ;)
I think it looks good with twin discs and the spoke wheel:

I may be wrong, but are the spokes laced correctly on your rear hub? Some of the spokes look like they have an arc in them. The pattern looks different with the new spokes than before painting them black.

Good spotting, and you are 50% right.
The pattern is the same, but the angle the picture was shot is different so it's not easy to see the pattern.
There is an arc on some of the spokes due to that the nipples just where thigtend by hand when the picture was taken
