Anyone have an idea on a alternative for the KZ650 B1 petcock (right petcock in the picture)? It was a 1 year only petcock, and it cant be rebuilt since its just a worm that turns vs the 4 holes like every other petcock. They are impossible to find, so im needing something else to fit. Thinking that I could get one off of a B2 (left one in the picture) which is vacuum operated, cut out the diaphragm and then cap the vacuum port as it would then spew fuel. Before trying that, hoping maybe someone else has another petcock that would work or I should look into getting.
So that one looks to be 44mm (center to center) hole spacing, I havent taken it off to measure but looks like you have a B model. The SpeedMotoCo sight just doesn't list that model. The xs650 petcock looks to have 42.5mm (apart) spacing and the xs400 has 34mm (unknown) spacing.
So the XS650 if its inside to inside might actually be 44mm center to center. I guess I just need to take mine off and measure it.
Hi all, I am in the UK, I have just purchased an imported 1977 KZ650 C1 model and I am in need of a replacement fuel tap (petcock), it is the non vacuum type with the wider 44/45mm bolt spacings.
Any suggestions on what will fit ?
I have read that the xs650 tap will fit, but does that supply enough fuel ? Those are a smaller bore tap and of course the xs650 has one per carb.
Cheers
