77 XS650 semi-modern cafe

Picked this one up a few months ago and have been sneaking out to the garage when family and work allow.

Just been grinding, cleaning etc. So far I've done:
rear sets
clip-ons
seat
shocks
simplified some of the wiring
pulled off a bunch of extra stuff

Now it's torn apart again for the zx6r front end swap.

Factory stem pressed in to zx6r triple so I don't have to chase down bearings.

Picked up some of those $20 emgo widemouths.

I've got this SR500 in the works too....nothing going on with it yet.

Thanks guys. I'm really stoked to get the front end on the xs. It's going to be quite a change going from blown out forks and a single disc to sport bike suspension and tociko 6-pot calipers.

The SR is a beauty...found it locally and it's been sitting for many years in that woodshop from the pic. I need a new carb and it will be ready to ride.

Yes! The zx6r wheel bearings pop right into the stoke spoked xs wheel.... front end swap nearly done! pics to come.

If you're using the ZX front wheel, What are you doing with the original front wheel? It looks like a flanged alloy rim... I'd be interested in purchasing it, if so.

I'll be running the original spoked xs650 rim if that's what you're asking about.

I am a huge fan of that RD bodywork. Very nice work so far.

Got the triple bolted on with the tapered roller bearing kit....super easy and they seem worlds better design wise.

I need to take 2mm out of the inner bore on the top clamp and clean it up where I hacked off the ignition mount from the zx6r. My 46mm clip-ons came in and I'm sorting through my tociko 6-pot stash to find the best combo of used parts.

Anyone have any 320mm FZR or Ducati front rotors?
