number 2 is from my wheel compare numbers to yours

My number 2 is in my wheel with the bearings...can I just measure the wheel from the outside bearing to bearing? I thought someone on here made some hubs for the gsxr front end to bolt right up with stock bearings and everything. Cognito Moto I believe...maybe an option to consider.

No fun in that 1fasgsxr, plus i dont feel like spending 350 for that hub. I have some connections to get the parts made fairly inexpensively. Also i think the possibility of litterally bolting on parts to a wheel to adapt it to another application has its merits as in not needing to completely disassemble it.. if thats actually possible..

Do you have any updates on how you are handling the seat pan? I have the same back end as you and am looking for solutions.

Thanks!

Hey so i completely forgot about this post. I did get a little further along so i'll post a couple renders i had laying around. Been caught up in work and have not had too much time to work on it. Anyway here goes.

I did go ahead and finally get the rear end properly modeled. I went ahead a took reverse engineered the entire rear wheel drum brake assembly. As you can see below.

I think it turned out pretty nicely!

I ended up leaving off with a 3D scan of the Valve cover that i was planning to model up which in my opinion will probably be the biggest pain in the ass of this exercise. There are so many contours on this thing that really make you appreciate the use of the technology they had 40 years ago to make such complex geometry for this part...

Working on some other projects right now so this one may need to be on hold for a little while. I'll post more updates once i get there.

back in the early 90s i changed the fork lowers on my 72 CB750 for CB900 ones so i could use better calipers (a pair of 4 piston early GSXR ones), then i came up against the same problem you did above, the spokes hit the back of the caliper (those GSXR calipers eventually found a happy home up the front of my Vmax where they do a hell of a better job than the crap Mr Yamaha saw fit to issue back in 1988. thats them in the pic on the left)

i ended up finding a pair of twin piston sliding caipers (from a VF750 from memory), because the pistons were both on the outside of the wheel the back of the caliper was thin enough to clear the spokes.
obviously a pair of VF calipers is not the answer to your problem but its entirely likely that there are calipers out there with the correct bolt spacing that only have the pistons on the outside, probably from some more basic model than a GSXR.

i understand that you're after the ultimate braking that you can get but when you consider the stock CB single piston single caliper you're replacing it's maybe worth a look. i'm currently building another CB750 and it'll be getting CB900 forks and better brakes like last time
