Any suggestions on tires for a 78 Hondamatic 400? I"m looking at one of these tomorrow and probably buying it. They say it runs very well and is in excellent shape. One thing it will need is new tires. Bikez.com says it uses a 3.60-19 front and the rear is 4.10-18. I want something with more thread than a street tire without being 'knobby'. Lots of dirt roads up here. Any suggestions? Off brands are fine. I've successfully ran Cheng Shin on almost every motorcycle I've ever had.
Is there a conversion to 'modern' tire sizes for these sizes?
thanks

here I go talking to myself.....

I like the Dunlop k70's. the only ones I find are slightly smaller than stock. 4.00x18 and 3.50x19. Somehow, I doubt .10 makes much difference.
thanks

You won't notice any difference. Also check Motorcycle Superstore for Shinkos, they are on sale right now.

Ilike the tread patternof the K70's particularly since I will be riding a lot of dirt roads. I didn't see a comparable Shinko tire. Ron Ayers has K70's at about $70 each. I"ll check locally this week. I brought the bike home today. 20k original miles and tires. LOL. It's been stored indoors for the last 10 years. This guy's wife had an 81 Hondamatic but it got stolen a few years ago. It's in better than average shape for age but needs some carb work, check the chain, spot of welding and bracing on the rear rack.

What did you decide on tires? I'm replacing mine now and trying to find a decent replacement. Same bike

i recomend the vee rubber 163 90 100 19 front and 4.10 18 rear
