G'day everyone,
My XL250S's front forks need a full seal replacement and the triple trees are pretty crappy too (the previous owner ground down the stoppers so now if u turn it too hard the forks hit the tank). Now the idea i have for my bike is a military style scrambler/brat tracker type thing. My inspiration comes from the Left Handed Cycles 1982 CB750, Hammarhead industries Triumph 'jack pine' and the Ural/Icon Quartermaster. So I was thinking that in this case, instead of just replacing the seals and triple trees I will replace the whole lot with something that will offer me some more travel as I am looking at larger rear shocks and have changed from the dinosaur 23' down to a 21'. I have found a set of 93' xr250 forks for sale on eBay for a reasonable price and have a few questions for who ever has the knowledge or knows where to look to find out:
1. How much more travel will 93' XR250 forks offer me over stock?
2. will they fit fine as they are into the head stem?
3. do you think this is a good idea or should I just find a set of triple trees for my stock xl250s forks and replace the seals and maybe not go larger rear shocks.
any help will be greatly appreciated,
Cheers
