I recently picked up a new to me xs750 special. It had some parts already on it, such as the seat and rear cheap eBay shocks.
I knew right away that I wanted to take a little bit of a different path with this, so I started to look for a new front end. I pickup up a 2007 Hayabusa front end locally.
I quickly started to dismantle my bike and look around for parts to get the front to line up.
After buying several parts that didn't fit that were supposed to and talking to several people about the swap, I finally got the front end to bolt on and it WAS EXTREMELY EASY. Only $51.15 in parts!
I put on the front tire using the zip tie method as shown on youtube. Took me all of 10 minutes!
Bolted the brakes and tire up.
I had to get a new rear 16" wheel to keep the geometry of the bike in tact with the busa 17" wheel. Bought an xs850 rear rim. This proved to be a lot more difficult than it looked as there is almost NO information about this swap anywhere online. I ended up having to source an xs850 swing arm as the 750 isn't wide enough. I also bought but didn't need the xs850 final drive.
I finally got everything together and started to get rid of some of the yellow on the engine. I still need to get my new valve cover put on, brushed finish.
This week, I will have Hagon 2810 shocks in all black going on the rear, New rearsets from Dime City and cnc machined levers on the handles.
I also have a upward swept hoop going under the seat with an integrated Radiantz brake/turn light going on in the next 2 weeks.
The last part I am waiting on is a Cognito Moto upper triple clamp.
I am gonna refinish the tank and seat with the same color scheme.
But I also have a second xs750 regular tank and another cafe seat that I will be painted another color scheme.
Let me know your thoughts!!!
