79 GS750 cable lengths

Need to buy some cables for the controls for a 750L but they need to be shortened as i have clips ons. Not totally sure how much shorter i should get them, and I'm not sure how to measure without the engine and carbs in the frame. Is there a standard length people usually take off when they go with clip ons? Thanks!

Well some things arent recommended .....you could order the correct lengths. But i dont think it would be the first time cables were trimmed to size if you went that route....basically saves time and money.....in the past i have left the longer throttle cable and clutch cable and re route them just keeping in mind they cant be kinked

just the thought of running the throttle to the rear sets, and putting a live bullet in the candle. Anyways, i tried re routing them this last season but it just didn't work very well, so i was hoping to just buy pre shortened ones.

oh! Those kits look great. I can't find if they would have the same Ferrule ends that would match up the the carb's though.

Motion Pro will make you any cable you want. Throw the motor in and take a measurement.

I used their universal throttle cable kit, worked great, I do have a non oem throttle tho...
