79' xs650 standard cafe seat

howdy' all, new to the forum, I met a guy on a cafe'd yamy 360 last night who told me about this site!

I'm building a "budget" 79 xs650 cafe, and i was trying to buy "that seat" on xs650direct (mike's xs) but after reading a few posts on this site, I found out that he's been out for 1.5 years...bummer... soooo I'm looking for suggestions, I really like the look of that seat, for the style that I'm going for... is there anywhere else one can be purchased?, I didn't really want to go with a f/g cowl, unless I really had too.

I'm also trying to find out if there is another yamaha wheel that is spoked with dual disc that will swap on to my forks...and even better a spoked rear wheel with disc brake??

I'm pretty sure any upholstery shop that does m/c seats can duplicate the Mike's xs seat for about the same price on your seat pan. If you go this route you can take it a step further with different colors and piping and have a real unique piece.

you 79 front wheel is dual disk.

just remove the plastic cover on the speedo side and order up a disk, caliper, hose and mounting bolts.
