Looking to get a new rear wheel for my 1978 cb 750 project, what are your opinions on a 18 inch rear wheel, does anyone have some pics to see what it would look like, any info would be much appreciated
Get Buchanan spokes which are sold in a set for the Honda 750 SOHC, a 18" rear 40 spoke rim and lace it to your hub. Very easy to convert from the stock 17" to 18". Or...find a used 18" rear wheel from 69-76, use your sprocket carrier and bolt it up.
If you swap for an earlier wheel make sure you have the cush drive from the earlier bike as well, it will keep your chain aligned with the drive sprocket.
Look for 75-76 F model rear wheel if you want to upgrade to a disc brake, they will also be 18"
