I have been running a cowley 4 into one and bike ran great . Just put on a reverse megaphone muffler and bike is alot louder and I am sure the power has dropped a bit mid range 4000rpm and power is there low and high rpm .I could live with it. Does it need to be re jetted or is there anything i can do. I have just replaced the plugs (B8ES) Maybe pack the Muffler with wire wool to give it more back pressure ?

Your carbs should have adjustable slide needles. Move the c clip down a notch and see if the problem goes away.

You should be able to get to the needles without having to remove the carbs from the bike.

"back pressure" is bad. Mkay? It's probably running rich midrange, grab one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Innovate-LC1-Wideband-DB-52mm-Kit-O2-BLUE-LC-1-3795-/270904657477?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f132d0645&vxp=mtr and get it dialed in

I hate to pry, but do you still have the 4 to 2 exhaust? Tell me to get bent if need be, just had to ask. I am not even sure if it will fit my 83 gs1100, but it is worth asking.

Sorry for the thread jack.

The exhaust from a GS550 will not fit your 1100.

After 80-81 suzuki went to CV carbs, they don't have adjustable needles. What size are your jets now? I might have some laying around you can use that might get you close
