82 CB750 cafe build

Here are some pics of my latest project. Started out as a full bagger with Vetter fairing and bags. I used a 92 GSXR as a donor bike for forks, wheels and rear sets. The tank is a modified 78 CB750SS and the seat and tail were fabbed from a Sportster tank. This was my first attempt at modifying a gas tank like this. I'd do it differently next time but it turned out okay. The seat I upholstered myself and is hand sewn. I plan on better paint in the spring when it warms up. The exhaust is a CycleX 4>2>1 with a shortened Yoshi muffler. I am waiting on some CR31 carbs to come in this week and I should be able to fire it up for the first time.

I'm not good at pictures or documenting a build but I do have some crappy pics to share.

Thanks, I just used a small ball peen hammer and worked slowly to reshape the tunnel area. I relocated the front mounts on the frame and I added a new rear mount to the tank. It was a lot of work, but the tank was free and it is so much better than the stock tank. If I had deeper pockets I would have bought a nice alloy tank. Honestly after all the hours of work, and all the money spent on POR15 and bodywork, an alloy tank may have been an easier option. At least I get the pride of making my own.
