lol.. funny that's what i asked him as well.. he told me, he wrap's the screen with the p.h's. and seems to him, there isn't enough change to air flow that makes a noticeable difference.. after running a few months he was really surprised to see the amount of build up on the p.h. and is worth the trouble to keep the engine that little bit more clean. there was more; I wish I still had the email. I would have forward it on to you as well..

Going to give it a shot on mine. trial and error i guess? LOL

Sounds like a fish story to me. LOL

Rusty - Thats a really interesting method...

Reminds me of when in rural south america surfing we used to take pantie hoes from the girls we met and use them to make coffe....
You take a wire to make a circle at the mouth of the stocking, then put grinds in the sock and run hot water through it, Really its a pretty good idea though!
Worked really nice when you have no coffee machines and are a 12 hour flight from the nearest Tim Hortons. ;)

Point being - if it works for me to filter coffee should be good for the carb too...

Finalized plug wires and coil pigtail this weekend.

Here are shots from both sides.

jeezuz brad, I don't think I've ever seen a frame that 'wet' looking. That looks fantastic. Nice coil install too ;)

Thanks, Ian.

Yeah, my powdercoater did a nice job.

Can't wait to finish this thing, but got a ways to go.

Wow this is a really great build. Very clean so far and that coil looks great.

Update on the project...
Been doing a lot of tedious work building a complete new wiring harness.
Almost finished at this point.
Everything works, including starter motor, but I haven't fired the engine yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Anyway, here are a couple of images:

Also today I got back my tank and seat from the painters. Turned out very nice I think.

I'll take some nicer shots in the daylight this weekend. The light in my garage doesn't do the paint justice.

Wiring is complete and it started this Sunday.
At 8am, it was SO EFFING LOUD I hit the kill switch pretty quick.

First start of project 750

Later in the day I tweaked the carbs a bit to settle it down, but didn't have the tank on and didn't want to run it out of gas.

Getting really close.

hahahaha.. I laughed at the same time you guys did..
been there... "OH SHIT THATS LOUD!!" hahahahahaahha... "that was awesome..."

Sounds mean! You did one hell of a job. I see the carb set-up is working well. I am still considering doing the gixxer carb swap, but don't know if it's in the budget.

LOL, yeah, the vid doesn't do the 8am Sunday morning loudness justice. My townhouse neighbors all heard it.

Thanks. Can't believe the wiring all worked.
Carbs, too.

Overall, that Gixxer swap cost about $300 after buying rebuild part$.

Bike looks amazing man. Great job on her. The first fire up is a hell of a feeling isnt it? Congrats.

Yeah, it is great to hear it run after being a pile of parts for ever.

Some updated pictures of my project build.
Switched to Dyna green coils, by the way..

First seat pad.
I was not happy with this and am currently making a 2 piece replacement that doesn't snap in the back.

Wrapped headers in bad light.

Fabbed exhaust hanger for collector.

Added some brass details to chain guard strictly for art's sake.
Still need to finish the back edge shape and shorten the part that sticks out.

Wiring harness is all buttoned up and everything works.
Kind of shocking. :)

Nice work Brad. I just re-discovered where I got the "inspiration" for my chain guard from ::)

Do you remember where you got your crankcase breather filters from? I having a hard time finding some over here.

cheers
