Well picked this one up a few months ago and haven't really done anything to it. I should have gotten pics before I started tearing it apart, but first thing I did when I got it was rip off the buckhorns and throw on some superbike bars I had laying around. I went and looked at this bike and drove it, then picked it up for $400 and rode it abour 40 miles home. Had a fresh painjob on the tank and has around 12,xxxk original miles with good brakes and newer tires. Only problem was a couple of the exhaust stud holes were broken and the exhaust was a little rusty...and it had a ganky 2 piece seat that wasnt even mounted to the bike anymore. XD

Went ahead last week and pulled the head, bought another $50bare head, and ordered a gasket kit from Z1. Dropped both heads off at the machine shop and gotta drop the cams off tomorrow, then everythings getting transplanted, cleaned, valve job, etc. Gotta lot of plans for this bike and Ill keep updating this thread as I go. Trying to go in a cafe direction with a bratstyle-ish seat and some other random stuff. Here are a few pics to do for now.

Do yall think I should go ahead and get the head decked while im at it? Would it be a worthwile gain right now without any other mods except exhaust, intake, jets. I do plan on getting gpz cams when I find em.

Alrighty well ended up doing a little more work today. Stripped the front end down a bit and went ahead and dropped the front down a half inch by sliding the forks up. Mocked up my Hyde bars and dont know what I think so far. Decided Im probably gonna lower the headlight and lower the guages as well, hopefully itll come out like im planning. I really need to find a bullet head light, either a Triumph, Bsa, old Ducati, Bmw, etc, and I think itll look a lot better that the bucket I have now. Still trying to figure out if Im gonna polish the upper triple tree yet or just repaint it. Got a little cleaning to do on the front end, but Ill be doing that as I go. IM planning to make a seat that is pretty flat and follows the frame to the hoop. Probably gonna make in an inch to inch and a half thick.

Alrighty not much work done today on it, just some shopping. Ordered my Bullet signals and a Sparto rear light, hopefully itll look pretty good on my almost flat rear fender. Still gotta order the pods for the carbs and get them worked out. Still not sure on my headlight lowering idea...I may leave it stock height...probably gonna end up running a tach only for a while until I get some mini guages, but not sure yet. Damn decisions. XD

Its going pretty good. :) Ive got a lot done, but have a TON more to do before its ready fot the road and only 26 days to do it....Got my fresh head back form the machine shop shop, got the jugs cleaned and ready for a new base gasket and o-rings, got a little bit or wiring finished, finished the battery box (pics to come) picked up a smaller battery to mount sideways in the box, cleaned my fenders and undercoated them, mounted my rear tailight and some spikes, still gotta drill license plate holes lol, put one of my Hids in the headlight, got my guage and other brackets painted and triple tree and controls cleaned up, cleaned and fully rebuilt the carbs with new 130 mains for the uni filters i bought and the harley mufflers going on. Prepped, prepainted and wrapped the stock exhaust, jst gotta wait a few days for it to dry, then to coat it with silicone spray, and some other misc. stuff done. Heres some pics of the stuff so far. More to come...sorry for the rant haha.
