Yes that is in the plan but not the budget. As of right now I'm keeping a eye out on eBay for 2006-11 gsxr complete front. My main concern is getting the engine back to like new. If I don't find one before I get it on the road I'll just run the stock front until I do.
Alright status update. Currently fighting the lower swing arm bolt. Its siezed inside the bushing. Safe to say I might end up ordering a new swing arm, bolt and bushing kit. FML everything on this bike is junk. I could have just pieced this thing together off eBay to start with
I sent the new pistons and cylinders to the machine shop.
I'm going to try reusing the stock subframe since it already has the mounting tabs and looks to be darn close to what I want to do.
Just a rough idea with the r6 taillight sitting inside.
The lower swingarm bolt is still stuck it must be seized to the bushing inside. I'm about 2 more curse words away from cutting it off and sourcing another.
So had a little progress lately. Ended up cutting off the original swing arm and found the threads were gone anyway. New one came in. Needs to be sanded and painted.
Replaced the rod bearings and heated the case to reinstall the crank into the new left side case.
i love it for case halfs all it takes is a very thin skim layer, just thick enough to show the red color it is
and it is anerobic so it has greatly extended handling time

I am still working on the bike. Progress has been slow due to a long vacation back home. I got the case back together. Pistons and rings on studs back in. Cleaned up one head and new valve seals still working on the second head.
