$85,ooo Bagger on CL

Wow - twin engines

Can't say I've seen that before on a road going HD.

Still as ugly as a hatful of arseholes though......

Going out on a limb here but I would guess that a new production liter bike could out run this blown twin twin engine bike.

Liter?! A 600 could probably at least keep up, thing has to weigh 1000-1200 lbs, I mean really, mini-flat screens in the side of your hardbags... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...

P.S. Just goes to show, Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I would love to see what he gets out of it compared to what he has in it; I'd guess less than 50c on the $. Sort of like our bail out of GM. As was said just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I see the paint scheme is flames... is that supposed to be prophetic? ::)

For 85K i would want some HD pictures, what is that, a polaroid scanned to the interwebs VIA overhead projector?

I've posted about V-4 HD clone before (but not for a while so most probably haven't seen it)
Friend of mine started developing a V-4 twin HD clone about 6~7 yrs go.
It will be making 200+bhp and about 210ft/lbs torque. (probably a bit more as the base engine made 103 BHP @107 ft/lbs)
I believe the 'conversion' is 2.2 as you usually have less frictional losses
It's REALLY expensive to develop a motor, even using mostly stock aftermarket parts
He does a bit when he has spare cash (not too often last 3~4 yrs)
It was a display motor at Daytona Bikeweek a few years ago, still working out internal oiling system at the time (didn't want to run any external lines, except to and from oil tank)
Going to have gear primary and special trans to cope with torque

Um. Yamaha has a V4 engine, it's what powers the VMAX and the older Venture touring bike. So, it's possible.

no disrespect, but I would think that is twice as many things that can go wrong... it is a Harley after all. ;D You would spend twice as long on the side of the road.

Though I think is in aesthetically unpleasing, I can respect the amount of engineering work that went into it.

Obviously $85,000 is a lot of money, and I hope he gets it. He just won't get it from anyone on this site (including me, Ha).

I wonder if he would be willing to part it out..... LOL

Harley developed a watercooled, v4 in the early 80s.

Interesting article, I always thought Harley marketed themselves into a corner with the air cooled twins
The Evo wasn't really much of an evolution
The 883cc made 43 bhp on a good day, 1200c about 58bhp and 1340cc 61bhp, but, the marketing made it sound like you are un-American if you don't own one
