A.c. Generator - extra condeser?

I recently purchased a t125 that came with a lot of parts including a few A.c. Generators (Kokusan type).

One of them has what seems like a randomly placed condenser. Now I'll admit.. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to electrical magic. Can anyone tell me if there is a reason for it being there?

I'll attached an image of the two I have that seem normal for some comparison. I am just really thrown off by this.

Only thing I can think of is that PO might have had two that both sort of worked, but weren't in tip top shape?

The wiring modifications suggest that a PO had some issues and that may have been the temporary fix.

+2. The condensers are part of the ignition system and have nothing to do with the AC generator save that happens to be what they are bolted to. The ignition uses a single condenser for each set of points, so the odd third one looks like it was added to help out a wimpy existing one as has been already suggested.
