A tail from a gas tank

A weird subject line but didnt know where to ask this or how to. Hope I got the right category.

Anyway, Im starting to plan how I want the tail/back of the seat to look. I thought I saw someone cutting the back half of a gas tank off and using that. Depending on the tank, the shape might look real nice. If anyone's done this, can you give me the link to the page.
