My fiberglass tank has been a bit of trouble for three years. Several bubbles in the paint after sitting in the sun required three more paint jobs and finally this past July it cracked all along the bottom. Time to switch up to metal. I picked up one of the million sold Benelli tanks, not knowing at the time that these were all over. Kinda like you never see another car like yours till you buy one, then you see them all over. Anyway, I took the tank, sectioned an old Honda tank for the base, welded the base to the new tank, then I added about 6" to the tail of the tank and blended the metal work into the seat, reworked the seat a bit and then, copied the paint stripe on my Nolan helmet. Here are some pics. Finished yesterday. yaaaay!!!!

Thanks guys! I hope it shows that you can make any tank a little different and your own.
Tim, this is one of the bikes I'm bringing to Barber.

I think that looks absolutely awsome, really nice work indeed.

I love the new stretched look of the Benelli tank.
