Aftermarket rectifier no ground wire cl360

Hi Guys just bought an aftermarket rectifier 4 wire, for my '75 cl 360 it doesn't have a ground wire like the original did that ground it using the bolt to the battery box? Should I use it?

Thanks -D

Doesn't sound like the right R/R. I used one from Ricks' on the CB360 and it had 3 white wires (to stator), 1 red (to batt) and a ground (to frame).

Some of them ground through the rectifier body to frame - hence only 4 wires.
I agree some ground through the potmetal/aluminum body of the R/R. Make sure there is a good interface between the body of the R/R and the frame. Sometimes a ground wire with an eyelet can be used under one of the mounting bolts.

Thanks all!

Those were my thoughts but as the rectifier is painted I'm getting an uneasy feeling about using it. Pushing my bike home 2 miles last week wasn't that hard but not something I want to do again this summer.
