These compressors are oil lubricated. I'd check the oil level and change it (use compressor oil) before going further and possibly trashing it. Also, see what kind of drain on the tank and learn to use it regularly. If it's just a pipe plug, replace it with a ball valve,

Yes sir, oil is a bit low and gross, getting oil today along with capacitors.

First thing I did was make sure the drain worked...
