**All you size 44 Guys - Vintage Hein Gericke For Sale**- Ever seen this B4?

locOleoN

Is that the best you got? OK.. now my TURN...
You'll never see another one like this jacket...
I bought this at the Marche aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves antique/vintage market in Paris France Dec of 2009.

It was a Hein Gericke jacket from the late 50's that Ive never seen before.

Although its a size 44, I convinced myself, (I was 175 pounds at the time), that it would fit just fine with a sweater underneath... Even with a longsleeve shirt & a hoodie it was still a bit roomie.

Now that Im down 20 pounds since I bought the jacket, its simply to big and unwearable so I've decided to put it up for sale.

Its a rare double breasted jacket. It even came with the vintage Yamaha patches on the arms..

the leather is FLAWLESS as is the lining:

Its labeled a european size 54 which is a 44 US sizing.

Check out the old detailing and the military braided shoulder epaulets, which is a typical WW2 German Military thing...

I want $300+ shipping for this jacket.

Yeah its a serious price, but its a serious jacket...

that's pretty tight, leon. can you give me a shoulder seam to cuff measurement?

I guess I should have put the measurements in the initial thread eh??!!..

Here you go. With the jacket laid flat and zipped/buttoned up: (inches)
- pit to pit: 22.5
- waist: 19.5
- shoulder seam to cuff: 25
- armpit to waist: 13
- collar to waist down the back: 26.75
- top shoulder seam to top shoulder seam across front: 20 inches

This jacket is very heavy. Im estimating between 4-5lbs of pure leather.
Incidently, I've also rubbed this jacket down with dubbin wax/conditioner so the leather is supple, NOT hard and crusty...

Im 5'7 154 pounds and its FAR to large for me..
If you are between 5'8 - 5'10 between 170 -185lbs this jacket would fit nicely in my opinion.

6'2", 180... hence the need for the shoulder to cuff measurement. I own too many jackets with arms that are too short, unfortunately. :(

just considering your height, I believe that it would be too short overall!!

Here are some pics of the back of the jacket and the patches on the arm:

Would you take payments?

edit: Is that US$ or CDN$

Id prefer US$ since most of my paypal funds are in US$ but honestly, with the cdn & US dollar practically at par, it doesnt really matter...

Id be happy to take $300 UK Pounds or Euros if that would be easier for you.. but no Mexican Pesos or Canadian Tire money or Monopoly bills..
:)
In terms of payments, id rather not but Id be open to it depending on the terms...
I wouldnt be interested in taking $25/month for 12 months..

just email/PM me what you had in mind and we can go from there...

I would love to pick it up from you. however I am picking up a second cb450 tomorrow and I really don't have the funds for it. I couldn't turn down a one family owned running 450 with all of the original paper work and title for $450

ohh... I should add that I might be willing to trade for some Triumph or BSA parts!!

What! No Canadian Tire money?!? What am I supposed to do with all that cold hard cash? Buy a canoe and a shower head?

Seriously Nice Jacket.

BAHAHA.. well... you can never too many canoes or shower heads in the supply room!!... :)

yeah.. its a really unique jacket...

Ha! Yeah I get to Canadian Tire only about 1-2 times a year when I am visiting. We have STACKS of that store money in all denominations from .50 to $5.00+ all hanging around stuffed in a drawer. Been collecting it for 25+ years. Love the store, just never remember to bring the dang Tire money when I go.

I really like the buttons on the front of that jacket, not so much the shoulder braids. Over all pretty nice though. If you don't sell it now I might ask about it down the road. I need to sell some of my stuff also.

Just read you sold it - we'll I didn't honestly think it would last. Don't you owe me some money......Kidding!

Are you kidding me??!!. Those leather shoulder braided epaulettes are very unique to WW2 German military!!... That is one of the things that grabbed my attention, then of course the impossible to find "double breasted & zippered" front!!

:)

You guys in the US have something much better than Canadian Tire!!.. You guys have Harbour Freight!!

I don't think we have a Harbor Freight in my state - CT, I have never been to one. I remember when Canadian Tire seemed more like a mom & pop shop when I was growing up, creaky floors, narrow isles and all. Now its like a Home Depot - they got huge! I think the A&P in Ganaoque is the last one in existence.

bill, what are you talking about we have a Harbor freight in Berlin on the berlin turpike off 91 north to the route 9 exit north. get off on the berlin turnpike going north it's at the first light make a left.
having said that there is one opening in Orange next month were the blue cube is across from pep boys.
we should meet up for breakfast and go when they open.
