Suzuki GT380 tank. Hips are too wide, need room for some knees.

So how do you go about pressure-testing a tank? I might cut up an old tank just for practice - haven't been doing enough welding.

Roundish piece of aluminium, drill a hole in the top for your blow gun to go into. Make a gasket with some blue or some rubber.

Cover tank in soapy water (heavy on the soap) and seal the cap as best you can and blow. Not perfect, but the bubbles don't lie.

If it's small enough that bubbles can't get created, the sealer takes care of it. I used Blue Coat cut with MEK.

Naw. Just shaped some new metal so that I didn't have to scrimp on any coverage. I wanted it a bit thicker than the tank.
