Well I am a few months into the build but sitting in a motel room reading about everyone else's build I decided to share mine.

Bought the bike on Craigs list with no carb, bought some on eBay then got it started.

I will just post up some pictures to start with if you have questions or suggestions, let them fly.

I don't think I've ever seen a set of comstars look this good..lol. Mind if I ask how this was done? (drill press? bit sizes?)

Looks good man, i'll be checking in

1/2" and 1/4" for all of the holes I started with a hand drill #40 bit piloting in laid out locations. Take your time and do your math when laying out your pattern. Then stepped all holes to 1/4 by hand and stepped up to the 1/2 holes with a drill press. Debure and Bam . I plan on painting them here in the near future.

Back home from the Road tripbut soon to have to go out again, so busting arse to make some forward progress on the build. Today I finished stripping the paint off of the frame and sing ar first off. Then when into tin binding mode. This is my first real complex metal shaping project. I think I am getting the hang of it though.

The aft fairing looks kind of large now but will be shorter when complete.

Today I was able to form the left side of the aft fairing and welded it in. I cut both sides down to get it ready for the rear cap to be formed.

Re: Angry Iron 1981 CB650 Café build

I used a uni-bit on those holes on the brake cover, they are a little larger than half inch but I do not have it handy at the moment. Probably 7/16". I can't believe the wheels are getting this much admiration. I took the easy way out on them, I was planning something way more complex. I do plan on painting the wheels but I think they would be very cool polished out.

I made a little progress this weekend on the rear cowl

formed the last of it out of a piece of cold rolled 14 gage cut to the general shape of the hole I had to fill.
